K5TYP QSL CARD, 1980

While I was digging through the club to find interesting photographs, I happened upon this old QSL card for the club. At first, I thought it was a blank card. I was wrong. It was sent to Ruben Downham (XE3H), from Aculpulco, MX. It confirms a 2-way QSO between Ruben and club member Jim Muller (WB2MMB) on 6 April, 1980, 1750GMT. The QSO was on 21Mhz, SSB, with a report of 59 from the Collins station feeding a 40Mtr dipole. I do not know why the card was returned (it has a stamp and a postmark) but was very glad to come across it. On a side-note, I was an 18yr old A1C student in the Morse Intercept course when this QSO was taking place. I enlisted in 1979 and spent six months at Keesler, but never knew the club existed (sigh).
