K5TYP Photo Archive

This archive of photographs spans many decades and was made possible by the many members who took time to contribute photographs from their personal collections.  If you would like to add some of your own, contact me at w4zt at w4zt dot com via email.  I will add narratives if you provide them.

I was looking at the K5TYP on-line photos. You show a red and white QSL card in the 70s section and a black and white card in the 80s section.

Please find attached a scanned copy of a similar QSL card in blue and white. I received this card upon working K5TYP after I left the Air Force. At that time, I was located in Stockton, California, using the call sign of WA6UAA. The QSO was made on 6 JAN 73 at 1354 hours UTC. The frequency used was 14.229 MHz. The mode used was SSB. The card came from Mike, WB9GZH (QSL Manager), and it said that the Collins rig and a beam antenna were used.

73, John K6JJ
